General Info
The primary use of evaluations in the USA Hockey Officiating Program is to serve as an educational tool to assist in the development and improvement of its officials. The process is designed to provide officials with instructional follow-up that reinforces the information learned in seminars and officiating manuals. The evaluator acts as a coach, offering both positive and constructive feedback on performance areas like skating, positioning, rule knowledge, game management, and communication. While they help officials work at their appropriate level, evaluations are key to identifying areas for growth and supporting the development of those aiming to advance to higher levels of hockey.
